Run for your lives …. it’s Halloween!

A big spooky thanks goes to Jamie for hosting a creepy, spine chilling, bone crushing, super awesome halloween party on the 31st. Every single person dressed up in some amazing and creative costumes! We had Sons of Anarchy,  mermaids, ladybirds, sherifs, court jesters, dead people, deep sea fishermen, gangnam style and even some idiot in a garbage can, among many …

Vancouver’s Newest Half Marathon!

A big congratulation to all the runners who competed in the Inaugural Vancouver Rock and Roll Half Marathon and 10K. Claudette, Dean, Jen, Aaron, May, Jamie, Adele and Melissa were joined by 12,500 other runners in what turned out a really successful day. The weather, which had been disgusting all week, cleared to allow for a beautiful fall morning run. …

‘Do you know the way to San Jose?’

Well Dean and Claudette certainly do! San Jose was their first in a trifecta of half marathons within a 6 week period, wow that’s some going. Way to go you two, beer well deserved, you guys rock. Next stop Vancouver, then Vegas  baby!

Muck MS – Chilliwack

A great day of fun was had at the Muck MS event. This was a 5k fundraising event in aid of Multiple Sclerosis Canada. The course was muddy with around 12 obstacles along the route. The event was held at Dicklands Farm in Chilliwack, with the farm being transformed into a muddy course running through old corn fields and a …

Christine goes country – hell yeah!

What a fantastic evening we all had hosted by Roger and Christine. Roger on base guitar, their daughters on vocals and piano and their great friends and neighbours on lead guitar, vocals and drums. Then there were those cameo appearances from Christine. Wow, she brought the house down with her husky vocals … this girl can run and sing!

Grouse Mountain Climb

Tracey was the team leader on this one as she used to live at the base of the mountain and still climbs it on a regular basis. Half of us went up the traditional ‘grind’ route and the other half climbed the BCMC trail to the top. Both climbs are tough with the grind climbers having to tackle the ‘stairway …

Brae Island 5k, 10k, 15k

This was the fifth and final race in a series run by the Mountain Equipment Centre. The course was laid out in 5k loops so you took your choice on which event you wanted to enter, 5k, 10k or 15k. We were hoping this run would at least be flat, unlike the Derby Reach run, which was in the same …

Derby Reach 10k

Derby Reach 10k trail run …. with hills! Yes hills, and pretty big ones! We all thought that this was going to be a nice flat course as it was right down by the river, in fact it did start like that until we headed off into the woods. We were hit with about 4 hills at least one of …

Boundary Bay Bike Ride

We call it cross training don’t we? Well it sounded like a good idea at the time, a 40k bike ride from Mud Bay to Tsawwassen and back with the obligatory halfway watering hole stop at the Rose & Crown. We all met in the car park at Mud Bay with an interesting collection of bikes. There were cool ones, …

Bob’s knocking down Sandcastles

In June, Bob ran the Sandcastle City Classic 10k race. The route takes you through the south Surrey, White Rock area and is known for being a fast mainly downhill course. Unfortunately for Bob the route was changed slightly this year because of roadworks, so it turned out to be a much more winding and challenging route than normal. Not …
